Elle est asymptomatique chez l’animal infecté. l s’agit d’une maladie émergente moins connue dans certaines contrées. Le Burkina Faso ne dispose pas de données suffisantes sur la maladie mais des études ont montré la circulation du virus de cette zoonose dans les pays voisins notamment le Mali où elle a causé la mort de six (06) personnes en 2020.Cette situation a suscité un intérêt pour la présente étude. A cet effet, au total 371 sérums de bovins prélevés dans 12 villages répartis dans 04 communes ont été analysés. Pour les analyses, c’est l’ELISA « sandwich » à double antigène qui a été utilisée.
De cette technique il a été ressorti une prévalence sérologique globale de 72,2% répartie comme suit : 80% dans la province du Mouhoun et 65,6% dans la province du Kénédougou. La prévalence selon la commune était 75%, 84,9%, 71,1% et 60,5% respectivement dans les communes de Dédougou, Safané, N’Dorola et Sindou.
Selon les résultats de l’analyse biostatistique, le métissage, l’âge de plus de 2ans, les vaches, la présence de tiques, la cachexie, les communes de Dédougou et de Safané ont été identifiés comme de potentiels facteurs de risque associés à l’infection par le virus de la FHCC.
