Ces études ont permis de mieux connaître la maladie, et de limiter son évolution, par la mise en place de moyen de lutte efficace, en vue d’une éradication complète dans le monde entier. Par ailleurs, le continent Africain paye toujours les conséquences de cette pathologie silencieuse évoluant à bas bruit, mais ayant un impact direct sur la santé et les revenus des populations vivant du bétail. Cette étude fait partie d’un programme de recherche intitulé « Mise en place d’une stratégie multisectorielle de lutte contre la brucellose dans les principales zones périurbaines de production laitière d’Afrique de l’ouest et du Centre », du projet « Zoonosis and Emerging
Livestock Systems » (ZELS). La présente étude avait pour objectif principal de faire l’état des lieux de la brucellose par la récolte des données socio-épidémiologiques de la brucellose en Afrique subsaharienne par des enquêtes
CAP et sérologique dans les troupeaux localisés à la périphérie des pôles urbains d’Afrique subsaharienne. L’étude transversale a été menée d’Octobre 2017 à Février 2018 en périphérie d’Abidjan.
Afin, d’évaluer les connaissances, attitudes et pratiques des producteurs sur la brucellose, une enquête a été effectuée au niveau de 9 localités réparties dans les trois districts composant notre zone d’étude à savoir le district autonome d’Abidjan, le district des grands-ponts et le district d’Agneby - Tiassa. Il ressort de cette enquête que seulement 10 p.100 (7/71) des éleveurs ont déjà entendu parler de la brucellose. Ajouter à cela, les pratiques des éleveurs sont empiriques, allant de la négligence du port des gants lors des vêlages à la consommation de lait cru sans pasteurisation préalable. Ces éléments constituent des risques d’exposition face à cette Zoonose. Concernant, la détermination de la prévalence 203 prélèvements sanguins ont été échantillonnés, ainsi que 82 laits de mélange récoltés. Sur les 203 prélèvements sanguins collectés, le test au Rose Bengale a révélé 13 résultats positifs, soit une séroprévalence de 15,85 p. 100. Par ailleurs, les 82 laits de mélanges collectés, et soumis au test d’ELISA indirect réalisé avec le Kit APHA scientifique brucELISA M ont fourni, 18 résultats positifs, soit une prévalence globale de 22 p.100. Les analyses des prélèvements ont été effectués au laboratoire central vétérinaire de Bingerville du
LANADA dans les districts Autonome d’Abidjan. Dans le but de maîtriser l’évolution de cette zoonose majeure, dans la population animale et humaine, nous préconisons la création d’un cadre conceptuel, avec l’approche multi-sectorielle « One Health ».
