Titre : Séroprévalence de la néosporose (Neospora canium) chez quelques espèces animales du Parc Forestier et Zoologique de Hann (Sénégal) Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Eric Dombou, Auteur Editeur : Dakar : EISMV Année de publication : 2008 Importance : 80 p. Langues : Français (fre) Catégories : THESES DE MEDECINE VETERINAIRE:2008 Mots-clés : NEOSPOROSE PARASITOSE SENEGAL Index. décimale : TD-THESE DE DOCTORAT Résumé : The neosporosis is a recent discovery cause by Neospora caninum, protozoan group of coccidia. It is manifested clinically by abortions and unrest among many neonatal domestic and wild animals. It would be responsible for about 42.5% of abortions in cattle in some countries of the North. Neosporosis has been identified in almost every country in which it was sought. Investigation involved neosporosis have taken place in South Africa, Algeria, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The objective of our study was to identify a contact between Senegalese wildlife and Neospora caninum. Thus, 17 sera from 7 lions (Panthera leo), 4 buffalos (Syncerus caffer), 2 Oryx (Oryx dammah), 2 hyenas (Crocuta crocuta), 1 jackal (Canis aureus), and 1 hypotrague (Hypotragus equinus koba) were collected in Forest and Zoologic parks of Hann in Senegal and analysed by the ELISA technique (KIT VMRD Neospora caninum C-ELISA) at the laboratory's serology department of reproduction pathology of the National Veterinary School of Nantes.
Serologic prevalence of neosporosis in these different species is 100% for the lion, 50% for the Buffalo, and 0% for other species. These results are showing that Neospora caninum is present in Senegal and circulates in the wildlife and maybe in other species. Thd animals play a role in transmitting the neosporosis among domestic animals. Indeed, report the case of a dairy farm that has undergone several successive episodes of abortion by Neospora caninum, while a large number of foxes are present on the farm. The observation of an association between the spatial abundance of wild carnivores and serologic prevalence Neospora caninum in farms in Texas reinforces the hypothesis that wild carnivores play a role in the cycle of Neospora caninum. The neosporosis could be potentially zoonotique.PRESIDENT DE JURY : Monsieur DIOP Bernard Marcel DIRECTEUR DE THESE OU MEMOIRE : Monsieur AKAKPO Ayayi Justin RAPPORTEUR : Monsieur AKAKPO Ayayi Justin MEMBRE : Monsieur DIOP Papa El Hassane/Monsieur ASSANE Moussa CO-DIRECTEUR : Monsieur WALADJO Alain Richi KAMGA DATE DE SOUTENANCE : 15/07/2008 PAYS : Cameroun Permalink : ./index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=1543 Séroprévalence de la néosporose (Neospora canium) chez quelques espèces animales du Parc Forestier et Zoologique de Hann (Sénégal) [texte imprimé] / Eric Dombou, Auteur . - Dakar : EISMV, 2008 . - 80 p.
