Le Bénin, pays forestier regorge d’une importante faune sauvage très bien diversifiée. Avec une population d’environs 11millions d’habitants et un PIB qui s’élève à 709,985 dollars ; une grande partie de la population n’arrive pas satisfaire leurs besoins alimentaires. D’où la satisfaction des besoins manquants passe par l’utilisation des ressources naturelles plus particulièrement la faune sauvage. Cette étude menée au niveau des populations riveraines de la RBP à savoir, les populations de Batia, Porga et de Dassari permet d’évaluer la part de l’utilisation des ressources fauniques dans la lutte contre l’insécurité alimentaire et sa gestion dans la conservation de la biodiversité. Les résultats de cette étude nous a permis d’identifié deux types de chasse : la chasse sportive ou grande chasse et la chasse des populations riveraines ou chasse petite chasse. Au titre de l’année 2015, la chasse sportive a enregistré 35 contre 02 chasseurs résidents. Le troisième groupe d’acteurs de prélèvement est constitué par les populations riveraines qui font les prélèvements de manière légale qu’aussi bien illégale (braconnage). Dans 38% des cas, les animaux sont tués pour protéger les cultures, ce qui entraine des conflits entre les gardes faunes et les agriculteurs. Le chômage pousserait également 14% des enquêtés à se rabattre sur la faune sauvage chassable pour régler leurs besoins primaires. Si le braconnage à but de subsistance constitue la principale motivation des prélèvements de viande de brousse, nos enquêtes nous ont montré que celle-ci n’est pas la plus prisée. Les résultats de cette étude ont ainsi montré que la plupart des espèces chassées par les populations riveraines de la RBP sont intégralement ou partiellement protégées. Cependant, la population riveraine ignore ces mesures de protection. En effet, toutes les personnes enquêtées savaient qu’il y a des espèces dont la chasse est prohibée, mais ces derniers ne connaissaient pas la liste. Il en est de même pour la période de l’année où la chasse est autorisée, personne n’a pu nous donner la date exacte. Seulement 93,1% des enquêtés nous ont données des dates approximatives. La surexploitation
par la chasse touristique et villageoise, le braconnage, les feux de brousse, l’assèchement des cours et la faible pluviométrie expliquent ainsi la raréfaction de la faune. Cet état de fait menace ainsi l’écosystème et son intégrité. Il ressort de cette étude, qu’il faudrait dans un premier temps que l’Etat intervienne pour détourner ces populations de l’exploitation des ressources fauniques et dans un second plan mettre tous les renseignements concernant la gestion des ressources fauniques à la disponibilité des populations. |
