Elle est classée parmi les priorités des Services Vétérinaires et du Laboratoire central de l’élevage (LABOCEL). Cette maladie a une allure endémique au Niger. Ainsi, pour avoir des données statistiques sur le statut sérologique de la PPR au Niger, l’Etat et ses principaux partenaires notamment le Comité International de la Croix
Rouge-Suisse (CICR) et le Projet Régional d’Appui au Pastoralisme au Sahel (PRAPS) ont financé la campagne de vaccination gratuite 2015 - 2016 suivie d’investigations sérologiques après cette opération d’immunisation afin d’évaluer la couverture immunitaire post vaccinale. Les prélèvements se sont déroulés dans les deux zones d’intervention du CICR Niger (Agadez et Diffa) du 15 au 30 mai 2016. Les sérums issus de ces prélèvements ont étéacheminés jusqu’au laboratoire Central de l’élevage de Niamey où ils sont stockés à -20 °C avant leurs analyses. Sur les 3956 sérums de petits ruminants collectés et retenus pour l’exploitation des résultats dans le présent travail, 2882 se sont révélés positifs au test c-ELISA PPR, soit un taux de couverture immunitaire globale de 72,85%. La couverture immunitaire a été significativement plus élevée à Diffa (76,72%). Elle a été significativement plus élevée chez les petits ruminants vaccinés (76,24%). Au vu de ces résultats, nous recommandons à l’Etat et ses partenaires de
continuer régulièrement la campagne de vaccination couplée avec le seromonitoring dans le contrôle et l’éradication de la PPR, de manière à atteindre un taux de couverture vaccinal de 80% au Niger.PRESIDENT DE JURY : M.
