Au Sénégal, la production de poulets de chair est demeurée soumise à des contraintes de stress thermique. D'autre part, les températures élevées caractéristiques des régions tropicales ont entraîné non seulement une réduction notable des performances de production, mais encore des mortalités excessives des poulets de chair en période de finition. Ce travail qui a visé à lutter contre le stress thermique en période estivale par l’apport énergétique alimentaire s’est déroulé de 2009 à 2010. L’étude a été réalisée à Dakar, dans un élevage de l’EISMV et a porté sur 280 poulets de chair. Les données ont été relevées et traitées. Trois lots homogènes de poulets de chair ont été soumis à trois modes d'alimentation différents. Le lot témoin, le lot T2 et T3 qui ont respectivement reçu un aliment témoin, 5% et 7%. Soumis à des conditions élevées de stress qui a été occasionné par les températures élevées (23,3 à 30,7°C), les poulets ont subi une série d’essai zootechniques qui a permis d’’évaluer l’incidence de l’aliment sur leurs performances. L’analyse de la croissance a pu révéler que l’aliment 5% a pu améliorer l’évolution pondérale et l’indice de consommation. La proportion des animaux morts dans le lot témoin a été supérieure de 2,86% et 1,79% respectivement par rapport au lot T2 et T3. L’apport énergétique a amélioré la mortalité des poulets de chair depuis le démarrage jusqu’à la finition pour les poulets du lot T3 et particulièrement ceux du lot T2 qui n’ont enregistré aucune mortalité. Les différents niveaux d'alimentation énergétiques n'ont eu aucune influence significative sur le rendement carcasse, le ph sanguin, le gain moyen quotidien et la fréquence respiratoire. En conclusion nous avons proposé la formulation de l’aliment 5% pendant les périodes estivales pour améliorer la production des poulets de chair. |
