La présente étude a été conçue pour analyser le sort de l’hormone 17 α méthyl- testostérone dans la chair et dans l’eau d’élevage des tilapias (Oreochromis niloticus), traités pendant 28 jours avec différentes doses de cette hormone (30, 60 et 90 mg de MT/kg d’aliment), suivi d’une phase de grossissement de cinq (5) mois. Au 60ième jour post-traitement, le pourcentage de mâle a été évalué dans chaque lot et les échantillons de chair ont été analysés au laboratoire Grant Vandenberg du Québec-Canada par ELISA et ceux de l’eau d’élevage au laboratoire LACOMEV de l’EISMV de Dakar par HPLC. Il ressort des résultats que les moyennes du sex-ratio dans les différents lots traités (98% ; 100% et 96% de mâles respectivement avec les doses de 30 ; 60 et 90 mg de MT/kg d’aliment) étaient significativement différentes (P<0,05) de celle du lot non traité (52% de mâles et 48% de femelles). Quant aux résidus d’hormone dans la chair et dans l’eau d’élevage des poissons, les concentrations de la MT dans la chair étaient très élevées dès le premier prélèvement. Mais ces concentrations ont diminué significativement (P<0,05) et sont passées en dessous du seuil de détection après 60 jours de posttraitement. Les concentrations de MT dans les échantillons d'eau étaient inférieures au seuil de détection (1,3 ug/mL) et étaient insignifiants. Ainsi, à partir des données recueillies, il peut être suggéré que le traitement à la MT des alevins de tilapia ne comporte aucun risque pour la santé humaine et l’environnement. En vue d’améliorer les pratiques piscicoles au Sénégal, des recommandations adressées aux chercheurs, aux pisciculteurs et aux manipulateurs ont été faites |
